S M Sehgal Foundation wins Mahatma Award 2021 S M Sehgal Foundation received the Mahatma Award 2021 for social impact in agriculture and livelihood under the leadership of Dr Suri Sehgal, renowned agricultural scientist and the founder and chair of Sehgal Foundation. The awards was presented in a ceremony held at India International Center in New Delhi on October 1, 2021, by chief guest Dr Kiran Bedi, IPS, 24th Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, along with Award founder Mr Amit Sachdeva and other distinguished guests. Water for Future project launch A rejuvenated waterbody and rainwater harvesting structure in Haryana was inaugurated on September 23, 2021. The “Water for Future” project, supported by BMW India Foundation, was envisioned to create a permanent and sustainable source of clean water suitable for human consumption through basic processing.

Presentation for community radios on research for content creation The community radio Alfaz-e-Mewat team shared their experiences on the topic “Challenges during research for content creation especially with farmers and solutions” as part of the webinar presented by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting in partnership with OneWorld Foundation India on September 27, 2021. The webinar was attended by existing KVKs, agricultural universities, and NGOs catering to the farmers community.

Expert speaker at Women and Water training program Sehgal Foundation COO, Ms Anjali Makhija, was an expert panelist for a 3-day Online Certificate Training Program on Women-led Sustainable and Decentralised Water Resource Management: A Multi-Stakeholders' Perspective, held August 25–27, 2021. The course was conducted by the National Institute of Disaster Management, Ministry of Home Affairs, and IMPRI Center for Environment, Climate Change and Sustainable Development (CECCSD), IMPRI Impact and Policy Research Institute.
