School Transformation Government Senior Secondary School at Parsa ka Bas village, district Alwar, Rajasthan, has been transformed in partnership with Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) wing of Department of Education under Transform Lives one school at a time program. Women Farmers Conclave organized On March 7, 2021, the Sehgal Foundation team organized Women Farmers Day at primary school Newari Ghorawal, Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh. The event was attended by the Block Monitoring Coordinator from UNICEF, auxiliary nurse midwife (ANM), ASHA and anganwadi workers, and schoolteachers. About 200 women participated in the event.

International Women's Day Celebrations International Women’s Day celebrations on March 8, 2021, were held in varied ways across project locations in district Mahendergarh and Nuh, Haryana. Over 300 women gathered to discuss about health and nutrition, digital awareness, gender equity in the presence of a chief guest from the Education Department and Anganwadi Department. Women sarpanches, women doctors and teachers, the Women and Child Protection officer of the district, among others, participated in these sessions and encouraged participants to understand and value themselves and their priorities.

Drought elimination project Sehgal Foundation is implementing a drought elimination program in Marripadu mandal of district Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, in D.C. Palli, Tikkavaram, Chilakapadu, Ketugunta villages. The ongoing project in fourteen villages will focus on farm ponds, soil conservation, soil testing, and social forestry with the support of villagers. These interventions will be done with some community contributions for long-term ownership through Tank User Groups. Smt. Supraja Gopal Reddy, sarpanch, laid the foundation stone for construction of a farm pond in the village D.C. Palli.

Economic Advisors visit community radio Senior Economic Advisor, Mr. Pooranchand Bodh, and Economic Advisor, Mr. P K Abdul Kareem, from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India, visited community radio Alfaz-e-Mewat on Saturday, March 20, 2021, to look at the operations and functioning of community radios and how they are instrumental in disseminating important information at the last mile.

Community members lead the sanitation drive A sanitation drive was facilitated on March 8, 2021, in Chunni Kalan village, district Fatehgrah Sahib, Punjab. Block Development Officer, Mahender Singh, flagged off the sanitation drive led by 100 community members, along with the village sarpanch, panch, all ward members, village development committee members, schoolteachers, and others. The drive was conducted as part of Project Pragati.

Distribution of solar spray pumps Solar spray pumps were distributed to farmers across ten villages in a farmers’ meet held at village Goyla, district Nuh, Haryana, under the Gram Uday project. Sehgal Foundation team member, Nandpal Singh, speaking about the benefits of solar spray pumps, shared that about 3–4 acres of land can be covered using a pump in a single day.

International Women’s Day recognitionSehgal Foundation principal lead, Outreach for Development, Pooja O Murada, was nominated by Lead India Foundation (US), for their Power Women Award for her work in communications and outreach for rural development. The event felicitated 111 women from different fields of work from India and has been covered by the World Book of Records, London, and the Karnataka Book of Records.
