University of Iowa group visit University of Iowa UI College of Engineering students visited Sehgal Foundation from Dec 29, 2019–Jan 15, 2020. The group, hosted by Sehgal Foundation each year, studies various water management practices in rural areas. Students presented their study findings from understanding the effects of water management practices in the Aravalli Hills and rainwater harvesting in Nuh, Haryana.

Two Faridabad schools get a facelift Two renovated government schools in villages Sirohi and Khori Jamalpur in district Faridabad, Haryana, were handed over to the community in an event held on Jan 16, 2020, by Sehgal Foundation with support from Mr. Vijay Dixit and donor community from Minnesota, USA, under the Transform Lives one school at a time program. Presentation at a Conference on SDGs Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation team members, Richa Saxena and Amba Mukherjee, presented a paper titled “Relationship between School Infrastructure and Educational Outcomes” in the ICSSR-sponsored two-day national conference on “Sustainable Development Goals 2030: Ideas and Innovations for a Better Tomorrow” on Jan 17–18,2020. The aim of the paper was to assess the relationship between the condition of school infrastructure, students’ enrollment, and educational outcomes in the Alwar district of Rajasthan.

“Community radio in India” talk on DD Science Pooja O. Murada, director, Communications, Sehgal Foundation, was invited as an expert by Vigyan Prasar for a TV talk show on Community Radio in India, which was telecast on Doordarshan (DD) Science on Jan 7, 2020. She spoke about community participation in radio and its sustainability. Dr. Sreedher, community radio expert and practitioner also shared about the journey of community radio in India.
